Hot applied pipeline tape
Densotherm Tape is a hot applied bituminous tape. It is comprised of a non-woven synthetic fabric fully impregnated and coated with a flexible, high melting point bitumen compound. Densotherm is suitable for use above or below ground for protecting pipes, fittings, welds and bends. The tape is applied with the aid of a propane gas torch.

Prepare surfaces by removing all loose scale, rust or other foreign matter by grit blasting or wire brush. Surface must be clean, dry and free of grease. Apply a thin fi lm of Denso Primer D to all surfaces to be wrapped and allow to dry. Begin wrapping using a reverse spiral wrap, at the same time, apply a fl ame torch to side of tape that is in contact with the surface. Then, apply heat to form a gloss-like texture to the outside of tape upon completion of wrapping. A minimum 1″ overlap should be used. For severe environments, a 55% overlap is recommended
