When making a Cadweld connection, an accurate control of the Cadweld process is accomplished by using a semi-permanent graphite mold. Control is exercised over the direction and speed of the molten Cadweld weld metal flow and final shape. The graphite used in a Cadweld mold is a high temperature type that lasts for an average of 50 to 100 Cadweld connections under normal usage.

Denso Protal Applicator Pads are designed to apply Protal 7200, 7125, 7300, and 7900 to your pipeline. Protal should be applied to the specified Dry Film Thickness (DFT) using a Denso applicator pad. Wet film measurements are to be performed to ensure close adherence to the thickness specification. Apply the product onto the surface and spread down and around the surface in bands beginning from the leading edge of the material to as far under the pipe as can be reached. Overlap the bands and onto the existing coating a minimum of 1″ (25 mm).
