CANUSA-CPS Aqua-Shield™ is a family of heat-shrinkable sleeve products that have been specifically designed for the corrosion protection of large diameter water pipes and pipelines. Various product configurations are available that utilize a crosslinked polyolefin backing, coated with a protective, heat-activated adhesive which effectively bonds to metallic substrates and common pipeline coatings. The DDX – Directional Drilling Kit is a high performance system designed to protect welded joints on PP, PE and FBE coated pipelines in directional drilling applications. The DDX system consists of the following key components:

Force-cure epoxy primer applied to steel for maximum corrosion protection. Epoxy primer is only required for 3-layer applications.

Primary sleeve composed of high shear strength adhesive, a protective heat shrinkable HDPE backing, and a pre-attached closure patch.

Sacrificial sleeve incorporated to protect the leading edge of the underlying primary sleeve during pullthrough operation.

In addition to providing effective protection against pull-through forces that occur during the directional drilling operation, Canusa’s DDX is a multi-layer system that provides superior corrosion protection at pipeline weld joints.

The GTS-65 Global Transmission Sleeve by Canusa-CPS provides superior corrosion protection and excellent bonding on pipelines operating up to 65°C. GTS-65 has been designed with a unique adhesive technology that remains “open” longer than traditional adhesives. Also, special surface active agents allow bonding to lower surface energy coatings (such as polypropylene). As a result, lower preheat temperatures are required to attain true adhesive wet-out, and superior bonding to PE, PP and FBE surfaces is achieved.

As part of an underground system, CSF/CSK products electrically isolate pipelines from metallic casings. They can also be used to prevent the corrosion of above-ground flanges and mechanical couplers. The sleeve consists of an irradiation-crosslinked, heat-shrinkable polyolefin backing, coated with an aggressive adhesive that effectively bonds to commonly used pipeline coatings including polyethylene, epoxy, tapes and coal tar enamel. Materials used in these products provide high electrical resistivity, resistance to corrosive environments, low water absorption and low moisture permeability. This combination ensures a permanent seal that is resistant to pipe deflection, vibration, soil stress, corrosive gases, and thermodynamic effects resulting from the expansion and contraction of carrier and casing pipes, flanges and mechanical couplers.
